Joy sat on the couch in her hotel room. She chased shots of tequila with glasses of champagne. She lived in the hotel for a week, ever since her release from prison. Piles of clothes and shoes filled the floor from her numerous shopping sprees. She was alone in this cold world. It was harder than she thought not to announce her return to the streets she once ruled. While so many fake, bitch-made, weak people shined off the foundation that she built, she wanted to reclaim her throne, and for the streets to be clear of all who did not belong. To save the city was a small thing to a superwoman, but the mission was for Barry and Mitch to be erased. ‘Anybody else who wanted to die with Barry and Mitch could die too.’ She thought. Barry and Mitch could easily be outshined or outhustled, but what they did to Corey would not be justified. Money was not a problem, because Joy still had $600,000 left from her last reign that was inside her Lakeside house. Tammy spent the money as if she worked hard for it.
Joy’s phone rang and on the other end was Al.
“You seem like a nice person and you are beautiful. So how about we meet at the Golden Palace. It is a safe place for us to talk and get to know each other.” Al said.
“I will see you there.” Joy said before she hung up the phone.
The Golden Palace looked the same from the outside. All of Joy’s memories rushed through her head. She flashbacked to when she was the queen and everyone came to the club just to be around her. Back in her day, the Golden Palace was built for ballers. Now, she heard it had been turned into a zoo. Outside of the club, a line full of ballers flossed and stunted for some of the sexiest women on earth. It was easily seen who the real ballers were, because they drove up in expensive cars and everybody saluted them. She missed the good life; how it felt to be idolized and honored by all.
Joy looked amazing standing in front of the club. She had on a short dress and knee-high boots. She loved the boots, because they easily held and hid her two nine-millimeter handguns. The leather boots made the guns undetectable and comfortable when she moved around in them. All eyes were on her, because she looked her best. She model-walked to the door and felt the hate from the other females. One of the bouncers in front of the entrance turned to Joy and asked, “Joy, is that you?”
All Joy did was smile. She hoped nobody heard him. The huge man gave her a big hug.
“I am trying to keep a low profile so keep it on the hush.” Joy said.
“Do you remember me? I am Big Horse. I used to run through all of the clubs with Corey.” Horse said. Joy remembered Horse because he never lost an inch.
